>>Badgers Ground Game Faces Big Challenge At Northwestern

(Madison, WI)  —  The Wisconsin ground game is rolling after producing 727 total yards in victories over Iowa and Illinois.  It might be a little tougher when the Badgers travel to Northwestern.  Led by junior defensive end Joe Gaziano, the Wildcats offer an intimidating front four on defense.  Even though Wisconsin won last year’s game against this West Division opponent, running back Jonathan Taylor was held to just 80 yards and Wisconsin rushed for only 109 on 37 carries.  Taylor hasn’t been held below 100 yet this season.

>>Packers:  Rodgers No-Show At Tuesday Practice

(Green Bay, WI)  —  The Packers decided to play it safe with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, holding him out of the team’s Tuesday practice.  Rodgers is still dealing with that knee injury he suffered in the first game of the season.  He was the only player on the 53-man roster who didn’t participate to some degree.  Rodgers says he hopes to practice today (Wednesday) and he’s still dedicated to getting the metal brace off his knee.  Starting wide receivers Geronimo Allison and Randall Cobb and cornerback Jaire Alexander increased their workload at Tuesday’s practice.

>>Brewers Counting On Return To Form By 1B Thames

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  He got hurt, lost his job, then wasn’t on the postseason roster this year.  Despite that, the Milwaukee Brewers say slugger Eric Thames is definitely in their plans for 2019.  He has one year left on the three-year, 16-million dollar deal he signed with the Brewers.  In the first two seasons, Thames has hit 47 homers in 234 games, good for 100 runs batted in and an O-P-S of .846.

>>Coach Says Middleton Can Be Elite 3-Point Shooter

(Middleton, WI)  —  Coach Mike Budenholzer’s new offense has opened things up for Khris Middleton.  His coach says the six-foot-eight Middleton can be an elite three-point shooter and the last game against the New York Knicks supports that.  Middleton connected on seven-of-eight threes on the way to a 30-point performance.  A bigger challenge awaits the hot shooter when the Bucks host the Philadelphia 76ers tonight (Wednesday).  The Sixers bring a 2-2 record into the game.
