>>Odds Against Brewers, But Not Impossible

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  The home fans will welcome their Milwaukee Brewers tonight with the home team’s backs firmly pressed against a wall.  Los Angeles leads the best-of-seven series three-games-to-two and could wrap up a trip to the World Series with a victory.  Since the inception of the wild card for baseball, teams trailing like Milwaukee is have won a league championship series or the World Series only 10-out-of-39 times.  However, Miller Park could make a difference.  Of the 19 times the team behind was returning home, they wound up taking the series eight times.  All the Brewers have to do is duplicate what the Dodgers just did — win two games in a row on their home turf.  Wade Miley starts for the Brewers, with first pitch at 7:09 P-M

>>Bucks Play Home Opener at Fiserv

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  The Milwaukee Bucks bring their new-look offense and some familiar players to their brand-new Fiserv Arena for the home season opener tonight (Friday) at 7:30 P-M.  Milwaukee is getting some love from the national press, with one writer at S-B Nation saying they can win the East if they master their new offense.  The Bucks will be going for two wins in two games as Indiana visits the new arena.  They beat Charlotte Wednesday night 113-112.

>>Rodgers Named FedEx Air Player Of The Week

(Green Bay, WI)  —  Leading his Green Bay Packers teammates to a come-from-behind win over San Francisco Monday night has earned an N-F-L honor for Aaron Rodgers.  The Packer quarterback has been named the FedEx Air Player of the Week.  He threw for 425 yards and two touchdowns in the 33-30 victory.  Rodgers completed a game-tying T-D pass to Davante Adams with a minute-55 to go, then drove his team 81 yards, setting up Mason Crosby’s game-winning field goal.  He has 12 touchdown passes this season and only one interception.

>>Badgers Defensive Backfield Still Dinged Up With Illini Visiting

(Madison, WI)  —  The injury report for Saturday’s Wisconsin Badgers homecoming game shows just how thin the team’s defensive backfield is.  Reserve cornerback Travian Black is out with a leg injury and three safeties — D’Cota Dixon, Scott Nelson, and Reggie Pearson — are listed as questionable.  So is cornerback Faion Hicks.  All are suffering from leg injuries.  Kickoff from Camp Randall Stadium is set for 11:00 A-M Saturday.
