>>Phillies Edge Brewers

(Philadelphia, PA)  —  The Phillies tallied three runs in the fifth inning and held on to beat the Brewers 4-3 and deny Milwaukee the three-game sweep in Philly.  Lorenzo Cain, Christian Yelich and Ryan Braun plated runs for Milwaukee, which finished 3-and-5 on its road trip.  Dan Jennings suffered the loss.

 

>>Brewers Open Homestand Tonight Against Cubs

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  The Brewers open up a six-game homestand tonight (MOnday) with the first of three against the Chicago Cubs at Miller Park.  The Phillies will come to town this weekend. Righthander  Junior Guerra gets the start tonight opposite Cubs left-hander Jose Quintana. The Brewers lead the Cubs by one half game in the N-L Central.

 

>>Brewers Acquire Miller From Rays

(St. Petersburg, FL)  —  The Brewers have acquired infielder Brad Miller and cash from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for first baseman/outfielder Ji-Man Choi.  The move comes after Miller was designated for assignment last week.  Miller hit .256 with five homers and 21 RBI in 48 games this season, but had 51 strikeouts in 156 plate appearances.

 

>>Packers Begin Minicamp Tuesday
(Green Bay, WI)  —  The Packers will hold a three-day mandatory minicamp starting Tuesday.  The preseason is just under two months away.  The Packers begin exhibition play August 9th hosting the Tennessee Titans.
