>>Bucks Hire Budenholzer To Be Head Coach

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  The Milwaukee Bucks have hired the most in-demand candidate available to be their new head coach.  N-B-A sources report the Bucks have reached an agreement with former Atlanta coach Mike Budenholzer after interviewing seven candidates.  He takes over a franchise which hasn’t made it to the second round of the N-B-A playoffs in 17 years.  The deal was signed after the new coach was spotted having breakfast with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton Wednesday.  The other finalist for the Milwaukee job was San Antonio Spurs assistant Ettore Messina.

>>Brewers Pound 4 HRs In 4 Innings, Rout Diamondbacks 8-2

(Phoenix, AZ)  —  Brewer batters hit four long-balls in the first four innings, then coasted past Arizona 8-2 Wednesday afternoon.  Milwaukee took two-out-of-three games in the series.  Matt Koch was touched for the homers by Travis Shaw, Domingo Santana, Christian Yelich and Tyler Saladino.  Brewer starter Brandon Woodruff held Arizona to one hit in his five innings of work, then three relievers pitched four scoreless innings to wrap up the victory.  Trips west have been something of an adventure for Milwaukee in the past, but the team took five-of-seven in visits to Denver and Phoenix this time.  The Brewers continue to hold on to first place in the division while Ryan Braun missed the entire series with back tightness.  The road trip continues with a three-game series starting tomorrow (Friday) night in Minnesota.

>>Titletown District Kicks Off Summer Season Next Month

(Green Bay, WI)  —  Green Bay’s Titletown District will kick off the summer season June 2nd with an event called the Summer Fun Days Showcase.  Free activities will include a zip-line, face painting, Zumba, henna tattoos and more.  Organizers promise live music starting at noon, wrapping up with the Wisconsin-based BoDeans at 7:30 P-M.  Guests won’t be allowed to bring in food or drinks, but there will be plenty for sale.  Parking will be free in the Titletown lot on Lombardi Avenue, with more slots available at Lambeau Field.

>>NCAA Honors UW-Milwaukee Basketball For Academic Achievement

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  They are called “student-athletes,” after all.  The N-C-A-A has honored the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers program for its outstanding academic achievement.  The national office says the Panthers have earned a perfect four-year score in the most recent Academic Progress Rate report.  U-W-Milwaukee is in the top 10 percent nationally among all Division One men’s basketball programs.
