>>Packer GM Completes 1st NFL Draft

(Green Bay, WI) — The Green Bay Packers are feeling pretty good about their first N-F-L draft under the leadership of general manager Brian Gutenkunst. Head coach Mike McCarthy says the new man was confident, knew the board and knew what he wanted. The Packers had 11 picks, choosing two defensive backs, three wide receivers, two linebackers, an offensive lineman, a defensive lineman, a punter and a long-snapper. Former general manager Ted Thompson was in the draft room, but the show belonged to Gutekunst. It could be two or three years before it’s known if it was a good one or not.

>>Brewers Have Big Decisions To Make

(Milwaukee, WI) — Sunday was a day of final physicals and exit interviews for the Milwaukee Bucks and their players. Saturday’s loss at Boston gave the season an abrupt end. Some critical decisions face the team leaders as they prepare for the first season in the new arena. Who will coach? Joe Prunty is a candidate, but there will be others. The team won 21-of-37 games under his leadership and his players are endorsing him. Another big question — what to do with Jabari Parker. He bounced back from a serious injury to average 12-and-a-half points-a-game. If teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo gets a vote, Parker will return. The “Greek Freak” was quoted as saying Parker “ain’t going nowhere.”

>>Cubs Complete Sweep Of Milwaukee With 3rd Shutout

(Chicago, IL) — The powerful bats of the Cubs get a lot of attention, but it was the Chicago pitching which did the heavy lifting in a weekend sweep of Milwaukee. Tyler Chatwood and two relievers combined on a two-hit shutout Sunday as the Cubs won 2-0. In the four-game set, some good Milwaukee pitching held the Cubs to just nine runs, but the Brewers were shut out three times and scored just two runs on 14 hits in those four games. The Brewers announced Brent Suter is being moved to the bullpen with the promotion of another lefty, Wade Miley. He will make his first start Wednesday. Jhoulys Chacin pitches tonight (Monday) the opener of the three-game series in Cincinnati.

>>Season Ends: Bucks Ousted On Celtics’ Home Court

(Boston, MA) — The Milwaukee Bucks lost a game-seven of an N-B-A playoff series for the eighth time in 10 tries when they were beaten by Boston Saturday 112-96. The stats show the Bucks failed to score any points on fast breaks in the season-ending defeat. Khris Middleton led all scorers with 32 points, while Eric Bledsoe added 23 and Giannis Antetokounmpo chipped in 22. The Bucks franchise has made it to the second round of the N-B-A playoffs just once in the last 29 years.
