WLDY/WJBL NEWS  4/30/18

The Ladysmith Police Department received a walk in complaint early Saturday evening reporting vandalism at the Worden Avenue Exchange. Reports say someone had vandalized items in the garage and had spray painted several items. Police responded to the business, took photographs of the vandalism, and spoke to John Hoover to see if he knew who did it. Hoover told police that he had spoken with a couple minors who told him they saw who did it. The police made contact with the 3 juveniles in question. Each one gave a different story as to what occurred and who was involved. After showing the pictures to the parents, one recognized a symbol in the spray paint and knew her child was involved. The family has been asked to contact John Hoover to arrange some sort of agreement.

Sunday night at approximately 9:00 pm, Ladysmith Police were dispatched to the area near Lake Avenue West on an anonymous report that Mary Smith and Justin Ramirez were staggering around and appeared highly intoxicated. Police made contact with Smith and Ramirez at the Lake Avenue Laundromat and P and P placed holds on them both due to alcohol consumption. Shortly after P and P informed dispatch that they had made a mistake and Ramirez was released. Smith was booked in for probation hold and was cited for the paraphernalia located in her belongings.
