>>Brewers Storm Back From 7-1 Deficit To Sweep Mets

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  The Milwaukee Brewers score ten runs in their final three innings, roaring back from a 7-1 deficit to beat the New York Mets 11-9 at Miller Park and complete a three game sweep. The Crew scored five times in the decisive eighth inning, capped by a three run homer from Manny Pina off Mets’ closer Addison Reed. Milwaukee continued its Mother’s Day magic at home, as Pina joined Bill Hall in 2006 and Martin Maldonado in 2015 in belting game winning homers while wearing pink. Jonathan Villar and Keon Broxton also homered for Milwaukee — which has now won six of seven — and Michael Conforto homered for New York, which outhit the Brewers 15-13. Neftali Feliz won his first decision against four losses, while Corey Knebel threw a perfect ninth for his first save as the Brewers now start a seven game road trip that begins tonight (Monday) in San Diego.

>>Brewers’ RBI Leader Shaw Injured

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  Brewers’ cleanup hitter Travis Shaw will be out for an undetermined amount of time, after leaving in the seventh inning Sunday with a injured right index finger. Shaw appeared to hurt his throwing hand the previous inning while he tried to make a diving play on a grounder from the Mets’ Jose Reyes. Shaw is tied for sixth in the Majors with 31 R-B-Is, and he’s hitting .283 with an .863 on base plus slugging percentage and eight homers. Meanwhile, Ryan Braun will travel with the Brewers to San Diego this week to continue his rehab on a calf injury that landed him on the ten day disabled list on Friday. And Brewers’ right hander Junior Guerra will make a rehab start tonight (Monday) with Double “A” Biloxi as he recovers from a calf injury six weeks ago.

(Undated)  —  U-W Whitewater, La Crosse, and Saint Norbert will compete in the N-C-A-A Division Three baseball tournament that begins Thursday. Whitewater will host the eight team Midwest Regional that includes both of the other Wisconsin schools. But after the Field of 56 was announced late Sunday night, seedings and schedules for each of the eight regionals have yet to be announced. Whitewater earned its spot by winning the W-I-A-C tournament during the weekend, while Saint Norbert won the Midwest Conference tourney and La Crosse is an at large selection. All eight regionals will have double elimination formats, and their winners will advance to the national championship round May 26th through 31st at Fox Cities Stadium near Appleton.
