Rusk County News

WLDY-WJBL NEWS 3-20-17

It was a fairly quiet St. Patrick’s Day weekend for Rusk County authorities. Friday night at about 9:40, a Rusk County deputy made a traffic stop on Highway 8 near Christman Road. After an investigation, there was a K9 alert on the vehicle as drugs were located. No other information was available.

Shortly after 10 PM Friday night, Rusk County dispatch received a 911 call from a female subject advising that Kirk Kenyon has been drinking and does have a open bond with Rusk County. According to the report, Kenyon was threatening to damage things at a location on Thornapple Road, Ladysmith. A Rusk County deputy arrived at the scene and after an investigation, Kenyon was taken into custody and taken to RCMH for a blood draw. He had a PBT of .17.

Early Sunday morning at about 1:20, Ladysmith Officers were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence on Worden Avenue East. Upon arriving, a female subject advised that her boyfriend’s roommate, Sebastian Guillen Moreno, came home to the residence and started an altercation. Moreno then damaged a bedroom door and had knives in his hand. The female and a male subject fled the residence and called Law Enforcement. After an investigation, Moreno was arrested for Battery and taken to the Rusk County jail.
